What are we doing to help the environment.

We have undertaken a fundamental change in our thinking. First the worlds resources however bountiful are limited and as the population increases on this earth those resources must be put to better use and not squandered.

Secondly we looked into our day to day operations and identified areas where we can change and improve the use of our natural resources.

By doing this we have implemented changes in the following areas.

• Reduced paper usage by:
  • Undertaking a large capital investment in our hardware and software to provide the data storage capabilities needed for the digital documents.
  • Continually seeking vendors support for digital documents (price letters, CofA's, MSDS's, etc).
  • Asking current and new customers to accept digital documents of their (price letters, CofA's, MSDS's etc).
  • Reducing redundant paper trail by switching to 2 sheet form rather then a 3 sheet.
• Reduced energy (natural gas & diesel) usage by:
  • Reduced our natural gas usage by lowering our warehouse temperature during winter to 60°F
  • Currently having 90% of our fleet of trucks less then 3 years years old.
  • Implementing better route planning to conserve diesel usage.
