PRODUCERS CHEMICAL COMPANY SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES RESPONSIBLE DISTRIBUTION PROCESS VERIFICATION
Producers Chemical Company successfully completed the second round of verification of the Responsible Distribution Process. The Responsible Distribution Process (RDP) is a health, safety, environmental, security, and quality initiative of the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD).
Producers Chemical Company as a proud member of the National Association of Chemical Distributors strives to be a responsible corporate citizen. Completion of the third party verification of Producers Chemical Company's Responsible Distribution Process demonstrates the commitment of management and employees to safely and responsibly provide quality components that make up so many of the products enjoyed in American homes, businesses and automobiles.
National Association of Chemical Distributors member companies are required to complete RDP as a condition of membership. RDP is designed for continuous improvement and includes twelve codes of management practice. The codes include: Risk Management, Compliance Review and Training, Carrier Selection, Handling and Storage, Job Procedures and Training, Waste Management, Emergency Response and Public Preparedness, Community Outreach, Product Stewardship, Internal Auditing, Corrective and Preventive Action, and Document and Data Control. NACD members must demonstrate management commitment, procedures and implementation of Responsible Distribution.
The Responsible Distribution Process is audited by an independent third party on a three year cycle. Producers Chemical Company received certification of successful completion of the second round of Responsible Distribution Process verification by Parker & Associates June 16, 2004. Parker & Associates is a consulting firm specializing in compliance systems and audits including ISO and now NACD's Responsible Distribution Process.
NACD launched the RDP Indices of Performance project to gather data on the Association's members in an effort to quantify the positive effects of the Responsible Distribution Process (RDP). The results of the 2002 project clearly show that RDP does make a difference. NACD's environmental, health, and safety record is significantly better than the trucking or chemical industry at large.
The National Association of Chemical Distributors began in 1971 with a mission to enhance and communicate environmental health and safety practices and the professionalism of the chemical distribution industry. For additional information please go to www.nacd.com .
